Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and BeeiTech LLC ("we", "us") for the Family Tree Circle software and services ("the Service"). By buying, installing or using the Service you agree to them. If you use the Service for a family or group, you confirm you may accept these terms for them.

1. What you get

Family Tree Circle lets a family build and share a private family tree. A subscription covers one family tree. There are two ways to run it:

• Hosted: we run the tree on our cloud. You can use a web address we provide or point a domain you own to our cloud.
• Self-hosted: you install the software on your own server and domain under a licence for one family tree.

2. Price, billing and renewal

• Hosted plan: US$49.99 per family tree per year. Self-hosted licence: US$79.99 per family tree per year, which includes software updates and email support for that year. Prices exclude any taxes that apply.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each year at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. We'll tell you at least 30 days before any price change takes effect.
• You can cancel at any time; the Service keeps working until the end of the paid year.
• If you're not happy, ask for a full refund within 14 days of your first purchase. Renewals aren't refundable once the new year has started, except where the law requires it.

3. Hosted plan

• Pointing your own domain to our cloud is free. You keep ownership of your domain and pay its registrar yourself.
• We aim to keep the Service available and backed up regularly, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted.
• If your subscription ends, we keep your tree for 60 days so you can renew or ask us for a copy (export) of it, then we delete it.

4. Self-hosted licence

• We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and run the software for one family tree on servers you control, for as long as you like. While your yearly subscription is active you also get new versions, security fixes and email support. If you don't renew, the version you already have keeps working; updates and support stop until you renew.
• You may change the look and settings for your own use, but you may not resell, sublicense or offer the software as a service to others.
• You're responsible for your server, domain, security updates, backups and any email service you connect.

5. Your content

• You and your family own everything you add: names, dates, photos, stories and comments. You give us only the permission we need to store, back up and show it to the people your tree allows.
• Only add information and photos you have the right to share. Family trees include living relatives, so please respect their privacy and remove details when someone asks.
• Each tree's Super admin controls who can join, what roles they have, and what visitors can see.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to harass anyone, to publish private information about people without a good reason, to upload unlawful content, or to try to break into accounts or our systems. We may suspend accounts that do.

7. Optional AI features

If a tree's Super admin adds an AI key, some features (summaries, photo descriptions, suggested messages) send the relevant text or photo to an AI provider to produce a result. These features are off unless turned on, and their output may contain mistakes; please check it.

8. Disclaimers and limits

The Service is provided "as is". Family history is often uncertain, and we don't guarantee that any relationship or date in a tree is correct. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses.

9. Changes and ending

We may update these terms; if a change is significant we'll tell tree admins by email or in the app before it applies. You may stop using the Service at any time. We may end the Service for a tree that breaks these terms, after notice where reasonable.
